This may not have been so bad if the story continued or we had confirmation on what was and wasn’t a hallucination but sadly the series ended there. So we took a great ending and replaced it with a fatalistic one where the good guys lose after all. He is also able to, albeit not nearly as effectively, resist the Madness Inducement of the Brethren Moons, which instills madness at interstellar ranges by. Not only that our heroes didn’t die at all so, so much for that meaningful farewell but not to worry because at the ending of the Awakened DLC the Earth is being decimated by Brethren Moons and Isaac and Carver have been knocked unconscious. Which is so cool except then the Awakened DLC came out which revealed that, surprise, the Necromorphs aren’t gone after all. It’s confirmed the two did manage to destroy the Marker and with it the Necromorphs. After a nasty final encounter our heroes agree to die in order to save earth. The Brethren Moons, also known as Brother Moons or Blood Moons, are the overarching antagonists of the Dead Space franchise. It’s incredibly epic and stands as the culmination of a fight against an enemy so brutal and overwhelming that their threat has lasted three video games and made their mark in video game villain history. When all is said and done at the peak of the Necromorph threat Isaac and Carver cripple the Brethren Moon, allowing them to sacrifice themselves in order to save mankind.
